The number of loans necessary to achieve a sufficient level of diversification varies depending on the rating and other factors. The greater the risk and hence the worse the rating the more loans you need to achieve a sufficient level of diversification. As a rule of thumb, a minimum investment in 20 loans should be envisaged.
